Cloudflare uses the request IP address to suggest a country. VarVote does not display or store the full IP address in the voting database. Live voting uses a random browser token kept in browser storage when available and in a necessary first-party cookie. The token is hashed before ballot storage to help limit duplicate votes. No name or email address is required.
